Training Programs

The QBio PhD minor is designed to augment existing PhD training programs at UW-Madison.  Students in any PhD granting program can add the QBio minor to their degree.  There is currently no restriction on which faculty advisor QBio students work with.

For new students interested in the QBio PhD minor, an important consideration is the best base PhD program to join. For most PhD programs, students have the option of joining labs of faculty trainers associated with that PhD program.  Therefore, we encourage students to choose the program that best meets their interests and backgrounds, and includes faculty trainers that students are interested in conducting their research with.

Many faculty associated with the Quantitative Biology Initiative are associated with a variety of PhD training programs.  Popular PhD training programs relevant to quantitative biology are listed below.  Please note that students can apply to up to three PhD programs with one application fee.
