Colin Dewey develops algorithms and statistical models for genomics. His research focuses primarily on the analysis of biological sequence data, particularly large-scale nucleotide sequence sets, such as the output of the latest DNA sequencers and the whole genome sequences that may be assembled with them. Currently, his research falls into two main lines: transcriptome analysis with RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) data, and evolutionary analysis of whole genome sequences.
